I don't use artificial sweeteners like splenda. I feel they are unsafe and unhealthy. I'm considering Stevia. Does anyone know how to convert 1/2 of splenda into anything else, like Stevia? - 7/1/09

A little bowl of heaven! I've never made or eaten bread pudding so I wasn't even sure what I was aiming for. I used fresh blueberries as they're cheap and in season now and doubled the cinnamon.I also threw in some WW english muffins as I didn't have enough bread. Now its the NEW craving in our house - 7/29/09

That Splenda is being marketed so freely and pervasively is most concerning given that there are currently NO large studies underway researching the safety of this artificial sweetener.

  • I've been making bread puddding for over 45 years. I lost my own recipe and have been looking for one to replace it. I wish I could say it was good, but I had an isssue with the recipe. The ratio of bread to liquid ingredients was off. Still, tasty, but not what I'm used to. - 4/10/10

    Reply from GGKIDS7 (10/28/10)
I don't measure my liquid. I just put the ingredients in the baking dish and then mix the eggs and milk together. I fill it to the top of the bread and bake it.
