Beef'd Up Rice Dish

Introduction

Slow cooker round steak with pearled barley, black beans, garlic served with white rice. Slow cooker round steak with pearled barley, black beans, garlic served with white rice.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    Beef, round steak, 1.5 lb
    Beans, black, 1 cup
    Barley, pearled, raw, 0.125 cup
    Lea & Perrins, Worcestershire Sauce, 4 tsp
    Water, tap, 1 cup (8 fl oz)
    Garlic, 5 tsp
    Onion powder, .4 tsp
    Pepper, black, 1 dash
    Oregano, ground, .05 tsp
    White Rice, long grain, 1 cup

Directions

Spray pot with non-stick cooking spray.
Place steak rounds on bottom of pot.
Season with black pepper, onion powder & ground oregano.
Sprinkle meat with Worcestershire sauce.
Add water to bottom of pot.
Spread barley over top of the meat in an even layer.
Spread garlic over meat, on top of barley.
Drain black beans and pour in atop the meat/barley/garlic stack.
Cover and set on Low for 7 or so hours.

Shortly before ready to serve, prepare rice on stove top/rice cooker.
