Skinny Sloppy Joes

Introduction

A healthier version of Sloppy Joes, with added veggies and fiber, and less fat. A healthier version of Sloppy Joes, with added veggies and fiber, and less fat.
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    1 lb lean ground turkey
    1/3 cup brown sugar
    3 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
    3 Tbs Red Wine or Balsamic vinegar
    1 Cup each, finely chopped carrots and chopped mushrooms. (you can add green peppers, chopped as well if you like)
    1/2 Cup chopped onions
    2.5 cups tomato sauce
    salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Saute the veggies until soft, add ground turkey and brown. Add the rest of the ingredients and cook until all veggies are tender and meat is cooked through.

Place about 1/2 Cup on each of 8 buns (the more veggies you use, the more there'll be, so this is approximate)

Serving Size: makes about 8-10, 1/3 Cups servings
