Ingredients

1 cup Steel cut oats
4 cups water
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup slivered almonds
Directions
Into four cups of briskly boiling water sprinkle one cup of oatmeal, stirring well. When the porridge is smooth and beginning to thicken, reduce heat and add the almonds and brown sugar. Simmer uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
