Delicious homemade popcorn

Submitted by: JESSDACHEF

Introduction

We subscribe to the "Don't eat anything you can't pronounce." theory in our house. Those microwave bags have trans fats - even when the label says "zero" it can have them! Splurge on a homemade treat that will have tossing the microwave popcorn packs in the trash. This is REAL popcorn. The butter and the oil mean that a 2-3 cup serving will satisfy you (instead of the WHOLE micro bag). We subscribe to the "Don't eat anything you can't pronounce." theory in our house. Number of Servings: 20

Ingredients

4.5 oz Popcorn (about 3/4 cup)
    2 TB coconut oil
3 TB Organic Butter (Organic Valley is good!)
    1/4 tsp fine sea salt

Directions

Use a popcorn popper (Stir Crazy). Put coconut oil in popper with 1-2 "test" kernels. When test kernels pop, add remaining kernels. Melt butter on stovetop while corn pops. Drizzle butter over melted corn and sprinkle with fine sea salt.

Nutrition based on 1-cup popped.

(No popper? Use a large 8 quart pot on the stove, shaking over med-high flame during entire cooking)

Serving Size: Makes 20 cups - nutrition based on 1 cup

Number of Servings: 20
