Stuffed Cabbage Rolls (Golabki)

Introduction

Ingredients

    1 c. Instant brown rice
    1.3 lbs ground turkey
    1/3 c. onion chopped
    1/4 c. red bell pepper chopped
    2 cloves minced garlic
    1/4 tsp paprika
    2 eggs
    1 large head cabbage
    15 oz can of tomato sauce
    1 Tbsp Splenda Brown Sugar Blend
    1Tbsp lemon juice
    1-2 tsp worcestershire sause

Directions

In a large stockpot boil head of cabbage, core remove for 5 minutes or until outer leaves can be removed. Return to pot until 12 leaves removed. Cool leaves. Trim thick vein at bottom of leaf.cook onion and red bell pepper until near translucent, add ground turkey and brown. Add minced garlic and paprika. Allow to cool slightly, the add 2 beaten eggs and mix well.
Mix tomato sauce, brown sugar or blend, lemon juice and worcestershire sauce. Spray a 9x13 baking dish, coat bottom with a little tomato sauce.
Roll 2-4 Tbsp portion of meat mixture in lettuce leaf. Make 12 stuffed leaves. Place in pan and cover with tomato sauce. Bake at 350 for 40-60 minutes, or simmer in covered saucepan on stove. Can be cooked in slow cooker or pressure cooker depending on time constraints.
