Hummus, Basil & tahini

Introduction

Creamy hummus, with the garden fresh taste of Basil. Great with crackers, chips, and veggies. Creamy hummus, with the garden fresh taste of Basil. Great with crackers, chips, and veggies.
Number of Servings: 36

Ingredients

    1-2 cups fresh basil
    3 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
    cup water (or olive, opt-not included in calculation) as need
    to blend the basil & garlic

    Blend the above and add:

    3 cups garbanzo beans, (if canned, rinsed and drained)
    1-3 tbsp lemon/lime juice
    1/2 cup Tahini
    2 tsp chili paste or finely chopped, seeded jalapeno chili (more)
    3 tsp umi paste
    1 tsp salt
    1-3 cups water, fresh or cooking water from the garbanzos as needed to blend. More if needed.

Tips

serve on toast for breakfast or as a dip for veggie sticks
