Kentucky Biscuits

Introduction

These are the best homemade biscuits I have ever tried or made! Super easy and great with honey, jam or your favorite soup! These are the best homemade biscuits I have ever tried or made! Super easy and great with honey, jam or your favorite soup!
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    2 cups flour
    2.5 tsp. Baking powder
    1 tsp. Baking soda
    1 dash salt
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 cup butter
    3/4 cup buttermilk

Directions

In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, soda, salt and sugar. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mix in buttermilk. Knead about 2 minutes adding more flour if needed. Roll dough into a ball. Cut ball into halves, cut those into fourths and those into eights. you should have eight small balls when finished. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees farenheit for 15 minutes or until golden. note: you can make buttermilk by add one tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice to the milk.

Serving Size: makes 8 3 inch biscuits
