Beef Stew in the Crock Pot

Ingredients

    Stewing Beef - 1 to 2 pound package
    1 medium onion, sliced
    salt
    pepper
    bisto gravy mix
    3 - 4 cups water

Directions

Brown the stewing beef on top of the stove in a bit of corn oil. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste. Once the beef has browned, add onions and bit of water to deglaze pan. Continue to cook on stove top until onions are cooked. Remove from heat. Transfer to crock pot. Add 3 to 4 cups of water and enough bisto gravy mix (according to package directions) to cover meat. Cook on high for 90 minutes and then turn to low and cook for an addition 3 1/2 hours. Serve with mashed potatoes and vegetables of your choice.
