Chayote Soup

Introduction

a yummy chayote recipe a yummy chayote recipe
Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

    1 cube of bouillon mixed with 1.25 cup of hot water OR 1.25 cup of soup stock
    1.5 teaspoons of olive oil
    1 small onion ( i use white onion)
    2 or more cloves of garlic (obviously this is to taste)
    1/8 teaspoon of red pepper
    1 smooth chayote.
    2 tablespoons of recaito (goya cilantro soup base)
    salt and pepper to taste

Directions

cube chayote or pulse once in food processor and set aside.

oil saucepan with olive oil and heat over a medium heat, add onion and garlic and saute lightly.

pour water and bouillon / stock in pan, bring to a boil.

add chayote, red pepper flakes and 1 tablespoon of recaito turn down heat simmer for 20 mins

turn off heat

Add the rest of the recaito and salt and pepper to taste.

let rest for 5 mins then enjoy!
