10 Bean Soup and Ham Hawks

Introduction

Comfort food to the max. This delicious soup is good with any meal, but I love it with grilled cheese sandwiches. Comfort food to the max. This delicious soup is good with any meal, but I love it with grilled cheese sandwiches.
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    1/4 cup Black beans
    1/4 cup red kidney beans,
    1/4 cup pinto beans,
    1/4 cup large white limas,
    1/4 cup small green limas,
    1/4 cup speckled limas,
    1/4 cup Great Northern beans,
    1/4 cup split peas,
    1/4 cup navy beans,
    1/4 cup package of lentils,
    1/4 cup barley.
    2 ham hawks
    1 whole Onion chopped

Directions

Put all beans in a pot of water and 2 TBLS of baking soda. Let the beans sit for 1 hour. Drain and rinse the beans. Add 16+ cups of water to the beans. Bring the pot of beans and water to a boil. Add onion, ham hawks, cover, and lower heat to slightly boiling for 1-2 hours.
Salt and pepper to taste.
