Introduction

Grandma's recipe for garden-fresh snap green beans with new potatoes, and onions. Substituting bacon fat for the butter makes these very, very tasty. Ingredients

    Snap green beans
    New potatoes
    Onion
    Garlic
    Bacon fat
    Seasoned salt
    Black pepper

Directions

Wash and snap ends off garden-fresh green beans. Snap into bite-size pieces. Wash and scrub new potatoes. Half the larger potatoes. Dice a medium onion. Add 2 cloves minced garlic, 1 tsp. minced garlic from a jar, or equivalent garlic powder. Add 1/2 cup bacon fat or other fat. Add 1 tbs. seasoned salt and black ground pepper to taste. Cover with water and simmer uncovered for at least a half hour or until beans and potatoes are soft.

Good with ham or may be served alone with other garden vegetables and cornbread.
