Rotini and ground beef casserole, lightened & altered
Submitted by: GARDENTEACHERIntroduction
Adjusted spices and ingredients from previous post to fit our family. Very similar to ground beef stroganoff. Previous post probably meeant teaspoons versus tablespoons of spices. This is quik and easy. Adjusted spices and ingredients from previous post to fit our family. Very similar to ground beef stroganoff. Ingredients
-
12 oz. lean ground beef (97/3)
1/4 c. chopped onions
1 10 oz. can Campbel's Healthy Request cream of mushroom soup
1 4 oz. can no salt added mushrooms
8 oz. (uncooked) rotini
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 to 1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. onion powder
I have substituted celantini pasta for this as well as rotini.
Directions
Cook rotini in plain, unsalted water until al dente, drain and set aside. Brown ground beef and onion in a large skillet and drain off the fat. Add the canned mushrooms, liquid and all to the ground beef and onions. Stir in the undiluted cream of mushroom soup and bring to a simmer. Add the seasonings and rotini to the skillet and stir to coat the pasta completely. Cook on low until the pasta is heated thoroughly. Serve warm.
