12 Large (7 if very large) Cabbage Leaves 1 beaten egg 1/4 c. Water 1 c. cooked long grain Rice 1/4 c. chopped onion (optional) 1 tsp. Lawry's Poultry Seasoning and Rub 1.5 tsp. Mrs. Dash Garlic & Herb Seasoning 18 oz Extra Lean (98% lean) Ground Beef 8 oz can Tomato Sauce 1 Tbsp. Brown Sugar 1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice
Combine rice, ground beef and seasonings and refrigerate overnight. Add beaten egg and water to ground beef and rice and mix thoroughly and set aside. Immerse cabbage leaves i boiling water for 3-5 minutes, until limp; drain. Place 1/4 c. meat mixture in center of each leaf and fold sides; fold leaf edges over meat and form into roll. Combine tomato sauce, brown sugar and lemon juice, mixing thoroughly, and pour over cabbage rolls. Simmer, covered for 1 hour; OR, bake, covered, @ 350 degrees. Remove cover for last 5 minutes, or until sauce is desired consistency.
