Ingredients
-
1/2 cup organic rolled oats
1 tablespoon chopped walnuts
2 tablespoons chopped dates
1 tablespoon pure organic maple syrup
1/3 cup chopped, crisp apple (preferably organic)
Fine sea salt to taste
ground cinnamon to taste
fresh ground nutmeg to taste
boiling water to cover
scant 1 teaspoon flax seed oil
Directions
Place all ingredients (except boiling water and flax oil) in heatproof cereal bowl large enough to hold everything. Pour boiling water over all to just barely cover--too much and it will be watery. Place a saucer or lid over bowl to cover. Let sit until oatmeal mixture has absorbed the water--approximately 5 minutes. Stir; if needed, add more boiling water to reach desired consistency. Drizzle with flax oil. Serve hot or warm.
