First Apartment Meal - Slow Cooker

Introduction

Slow cooker simple - beef, potatoes & green beans cooked all day on Low in beef broth with minced garlic. (1 serving equals 1/6 green beans, 1/2 slice of beef & 1/2 a potato). Ingredients

    Beef, top sirloin, 16 oz (3 slices)
    Pacific Natural Foods Beef Broth, 1 cup
    Garlic, 3 tbsp
    Green Giant Cut Green Beans, can, 1 cup
    Potato, raw, 3 medium (2-1/4" to 3-1/4" dia.) cut in half, lengthwise
    Onion powder, 1 tsp
    Pepper, black, 1 dash
    Barley, pearled, raw, 1/4 cup

Directions

Spray pot with non-stick cooking spray.
Place beef on bottom of pot, arranges so it covers the bottom as completely as is possible.
Sprinkle on black pepper and onion powder.
Spread minced garlic around so it covers/coats the beef.
Pour in beef broth, trying not to disrupt the garlic as much as is possible.
Wash and halve potatoes then add them to pot, cut side down against the beef in the broth.
Drain green beans, pour in over the potatoes & beef.
Sprinkle in the pearled barley.
Cover and set on Low for about 8-10 hours, depending on when everyone is ready to eat.
