1 c packed brown sugar 1/2 c butter, unsalted, room temp. 1 egg 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp cinnamon 3/8 tsp cloves 1/4 tsp nutmeg 1/4 tsp allspice 1/4 tsp ginger 2 c flour (approximately)
Cream brown sugar and butter. Add egg and remaining ingredients. Be sure to add flour in small amounts at a time. You may not need all 2 cups. Chill for 2 hours. You can either roll the dough out and use cookie cutters, or, just roll little balls and flatten them with the palm of your hand. I prefer the latter, it takes less time. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Cool 1 min on pan and finish on a wire rack. Store in an airtight container. Makes 40 - 1 inch cookies...depending on if you use cookie cutters and their sizes.
