Oreo Truffles

Number of Servings: 42

Ingredients

    1 pkg. Oreos (1 lb. 2 oz.)
    1 pkg. Cream Cheese (8 oz.), softened
    2 pkg. Baker's Semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted

Directions

Crush 9 of the cookies to fine crumbs in food processor; reserve for later use. (Can use a plastic bag and rolling pin to crush cookies if need be)

Crush remaining cookies to fine crumbs, place in medium bowl. Add cream cheese; mix until well blended.

Roll cookie mixture into 42 balls, each about 1 inch in diameter.

Dip balls in chocolate; place on wax paper-covered baking sheet

Sprinkle with reserved cookie crumbs.

Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour. Store leftover truffles covered in refrigerator.

  • Not that I've tried the recipe, this way or otherwise, but everyone is talking about how un-diet friendly they are, and not that it would make them an everyday treat or anything, but if you used reduced fat Oreos, fat free (or even just low fat) cream cheese, and dark chocolate, it would help!!! - 11/14/11

  • Awesome dessert, though not all that great diet-wise. But if you can stick to just one, it might be a good craving-killer. Super easy recipe, takes more time than anything. I've made these countless times, and they are definitely a favorite! - 8/13/09
