Green Protein Smoothie

Submitted by: EMMIEGIRL757

Introduction

This is a great balanced, healing meal, with phytonutrients, antioxidants, omega 3 EFAs, vitamins and minerals with easily digestible protein and very high fiber. This smoothie is very satisfying and will keep energy levels high and steady through the day to the next meal.

You can swap out the fruit for any you prefer as well as kale, chard, herbs, etc. for the spinach to break things up and avoid building up alkaloids from using the same green too often.

Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

    6 oz Water
    2 oz Aloe vera juice
1 T high lignan flax seed oil
    0.5 c frozen mixed berries
1.5 c (handful) fresh baby spinach
28 g NOW Whey Protein Isolate Powder
2 T Bob's Red Mill Ground Flax Seeds
    2 t Benefiber
    1 t Konsyl Psyllium
    1/3 t Stevia Powder (optional)

Directions

Blend the liquids, fruits and veg together until smooth and while the blender is running add all the powdered ingredients at once and blend for only 30-45 seconds more, otherwise the smoothie becomes very thick and foamy.

IMPORTANT: Remember to "chew" your smoothie to ensure that you produce plenty of saliva to aid your body in absorbing the most nutrients available. Otherwise you are drinking very expensive empty calories.

Serving Size: about 2 cups prepared

Number of Servings: 1
