Introduction

Indian Pureed Spinach Indian Pureed Spinach
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1. spinach - frozen - 16 oz
    2. oil 3 tbsp
    3. onion 1 large - minced
    4. ginger paste - 1 tbs
    5. garlic paste - 1 tbs
    6. tomatoe puree - 14 oz
    7. garam masala - 2 tsp
    8. cumin powder - 1 tsp
    9. coriander powder - 2 tsp
    10. red chili powder - to taste (1 tsp)
    11. salt - to taste
    12. turmeric - 1/4 tsp
    13. milk - 8 tbsp
    14. paneer - optional

Directions

1. defrost spinach -- microwave for 7-8 mins
2. Puree the spinach
3. Heat up oil, add minced onions till translucent
4. add ginger/garlic paste and turmeric - cook for 2 mins
5. add tomato puree - cook till oil separates
6. add puree spinach -- cook till it thickens
7. add coriander, cumin, garam masala, salt, red chili powder
8. cook for 5 mins till spinach looses fibrous texture
9. add milk (and paneer = optional)
10. cook for 1 min
- done. -
