Introductionlower fat version of an italian favorite lower fat version of an italian favorite
6 turkey italian sausage links
2 red peppers sliced
1 onion sliced
10 oz package frozen spinach
1 can hunts spaghetti sauce (large)
parmesean cheese - garnish
3 cups cooked brown rice (1/2 cup serving per person)
Seasonings to taste: garlic, italian seasoning, etc)
cut onions and place in bottom of crock pot
slice red peppers and place on top of onion
thaw spinach in micro and spread on top of onions.
Place browned sausages on top of spinach
Pour spaghetti sauce on top of whole thing!
Add spices as you like. cook on low for 6 - 7 hours. Serve over spaghetti or rice (I used brown rice 1/2 cup per person rice serving).
Add parmesean to taste.
