Introduction

I've taken the traditional recipe that is usually made with a high fat content and made is equally as tasteful and considerably less fat. In addition, I have used whole wheat pasta and a secret ingredient that makes everyone ask me for the recipe... Ingredients

    2 pounds of ground turkey
1/2 of packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix Seasoning Packet - dry, make sure to use equal parts of the seasoning and dehydrated onions.
1 can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup - condensed, 98 % fat free
1 can of water (use the empty can of mushroom soup to measure the water).
2 Tablespoons of light or fat free sour cream (I prefer Daisy brand).
    2 Tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 cup of shredded carrots
Approximately half a box (8 ounces) of whole wheat elbow pasta noodles
    1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
    Season with black pepper

Directions

In a large stew pot, bring water to a boil for elbow pasta. Cook according to the package directions. Remove from the heat, drain. Set aside.

In a large skillet, over medium heat, brown the ground turkey with the Onion soup powder seasoning mix - dry, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and carrots.
Cook until the turkey is completely cooked.
As the Turkey cooks, break apart large portions into a medium coarse texture...like taco meat.

Now add in the condensed mushroom soup and water and stir until well incorporated. When it begins to bubble again...

Add in the drained noodles and stir well to coat the pasta. Remove from the heat. It is ready to serve, but...
Just before serving, stir in the sour cream. (If you add in the sour cream while over the heat,it will break down and separate...it is edible but looks funky!)

Note: My children hated carrots, so I've always used a small jar of baby carrots...that is the secret ingredient. They never knew.

Serving Size: Makes about 5, 1-cup servings
