Scratch Scalloped Potatoes

Great winter side dish. Calories can be lowered by using 1% or skim milk and by using sweet potato [just add a little cinnamon]These were done in the oven, but you can also use a microwave or slow cooker [adjust the times] Great winter side dish. Number of Servings: 12
Ingredients

4 large potatoes, sliced very thin
1 large onion, sliced very thin
4 cups 2% milk
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 Tbsp olive oil
Directions
Put the olive oil in a 4 litre/quart baking dish and coat the sides, leaving the excess in the bottom.
Mix the flour, salt and pepper together.
Place a thin layer of potatoes on the bottom of the dish, add a thin layer of onion and sprinkle with about 1/4 of the flour mixture.
Repeat the process, ending with the potato layer.
Place dish on a baking sheet [in case of accidental spills] and pour milk into the dish. [Make sure the milk covers all the potatoes]
Place in a 350 oven for approximately 75 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the sauce is thickened.
Serving Size: Makes 12 - 1 cup servings
