Introduction

I added the puffed whole red wheat to cut down on the calories and increase the serving size while keeping the grains whole. It makes a generous serving. Ingredients

    Pecans, 1 cup, chopped
    Coconut, raw, .6 cup, shredded (or seeds)
    Raisins, 1 cup, packed
    Coconut, raw, 1 cup, shredded
    Old Fashioned Quaker Oatmeal- Plain 5 cups
    Brown Sugar, .5 cup, packed
    Maple Syrup, .5 cup
    Water, tap, .5 cup (8 fl oz)
    *Canola Oil, .25 cup
    5 cups puffed whole red wheat.

Directions

Heat oven to 275. Combine Oats, nuts, coconut. Mix syrup, water, oil and pour over oat mixture, stirring well.
Spread mixtures onto rimmed baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes. Remove from the oven, stir and bake another 45 minutes until golden brown and beginning to crisp.
Stir in raisins and puffed wheat and let cook completely.

Serving Size: Makes 40 half cup servings.
