Belgian Waffle

    1 c flour
    1/4 c unsweetened applesauce
    1 T sugar
    1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    2 tsp baking powder
    7 oz 1% milk
    1 egg
    1 tsp lemon juice or cider vinegar


Whisk egg, milk, sugar, vanilla, lemon juice, and applesauce together. Add flour and baking powder and whisk thoroughly.

Spray waffle iron with nonstick spray, and using 2/3 cup batter, cook each waffle according to manufacturer's directions.

Serving Size: makes 4 belgian waffles
