Ground Turkey Pasty

Introduction

Pasty made all in one pan instead of single servings. (Like a potpie). Pasty made all in one pan instead of single servings. (Like a potpie).
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    Flour, salt, baking pwder, shortening, water, ground turkey (or meat of your choice) onion, potatoes, carrots, celery, salt and pepper to taste, 2 tbs milk to brush on top crust.

Directions

brown the turkey and drain, set aside, cook onion and celery till soft, add to turkey, mix. Boil peeled, diced carrots and peeled diced potatoes until soft (about fifteen minutes). Drain, mix into meat and onion mixture. Mix flour, salt, baking powder. Add shortening in small spoonfuls, mix with wire whisk attachment in a stand mixer until it forms the consistency of bread crumbs, add water to make a dough. Cut dough in half. Roll out to 1/8" thickness and line bottom of 13x9" pan. Spoon the turkey and veg mixture into pan. Top with rolled out other half of crust. Bake for 40-50 minutes at 350 F. Cut into eight servings.
