No-Cook Peanut Butter Apple Cinnamon Protein Bars
Submitted by: MELIMUFFINIntroduction
Wanted a protein bar with lots of healthy fats, fiber, and not high in sugar! Wanted a protein bar with lots of healthy fats, fiber, and not high in sugar!Ingredients
-
*Great Value Natural Peanut Butter, 28 tbsp (whole jar)
*PL-Protein Powder (Raw PROTEIN, Garden Of Life - 1 Scoop), 4 serving
*Protein Powder, Genisoy, Natural Soy Protein Powder, 9 tbsp
*Gala Apple-1 apple, 2 serving
Cinnamon, ground, 2 tbsp
Ginger, ground, 1 tbsp
*Emerald Laboratories Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil, 1.5 Tbs
*Almonds, Mariani, 4 serving (1 cup)
*Great Value Oatmeal, 1.5 cup
*Flax Seed - Hodgson Mill Milled Flax Seed, 4 tbsp
*Agave 1 tbsp
**Truvia 7 packets
*** L-Glutamine powder (from GNC) 2 scoops.
Tips
Instead of mashing up apples, you can use a mashed banana, or pre-made apple sauce.
Play with it! Add dried fruit, nuts, seeds, etc. Add, subtract, do what you like. I added a lot of protein powder, so you can add less, more, or make it without and make it more of an energy bar!
*When I work out, I work out pretty hard, and need that fat and protein without all that sugar. I added glutamine powder as well, which is great for muscle recovery.
***These are gluten/dairy/egg free, since I cannot have any of these things. It was tough finding a good non-dairy based protein bar without all the added sugar.
Directions
2) in a sauce pan, mix PB, agave, and coconut oil til melted. Add this to dry ingredients.
3) Cook two gala apples til soft, then mash and add to dry ingredients.
4) Add H2O to make the consistency you want (kinda doughy.)
5) spread this out into a saran-wrapped square/rectangular cake pan.
6) stick in freezer or refrigerator. When solid, cut into your bars.
7) YAY!
Serving Size: Makes around 16 bars
