Introduction

A basic wonton soup with storebought mini-wontons, enough for two people to have a nice big bowlful. Mmm, yum. A basic wonton soup with storebought mini-wontons, enough for two people to have a nice big bowlful. Mmm, yum.

Ingredients

    2 baby bok choi (chinese cabbage) heads, sliced
    1 tsp minced garlic
    1 tsp ginger root (minced or ginger paste preferred)
    4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
    1 bag Annie Chun Mini Wontons - Chicken & Cilantro flavor
    8 ounces sliced mushrooms
    6 ounces precooked pork tenderloin, sliced
    1 cup onions, chopped
    1/2 cup green onions, cohpped
    1 tsp sesame oil
    1 tsp rice wine vinegar
    1 tsp soy sauce (I used low-sodium tamari)
    2 tsp sake (rice wine)

Directions

Put broth, garlic, ginger, and regular onion into a large soup kettle. Bring to a simmer, then add bok choi and mushrooms. Simmer until vegetables are slightly undercooked, then add all other ingredients. Cook for a couple minutes or until the premade wontons are cooked fully. Serve.

Serving Size: Makes two servings.
