MY MOTHER WAS NEARLY 95 WHEN SHE PASSED, APRIL 2011, SHE MADE THIS RECIPE ON THE STOVE FOR YEARS. I MADE IT FOR HER, MANY TIMES IN HER FINAL YEARS, AND "HER TESTIMONY" TO ME WAS HOW SHE TRULY ENJOYED IT!!! NOW, I WANTED TO SHARE IT WITH YOU ALL, IN HER MEMORY! Ingredients

    YOU CAN VARY THIS RECIPE, BY DIFFERENT BEANS, THE SAME, OR A COMBINATION. OR YOU CAN USE ONLY LINGUICA. SEASONING CAN ALSO BE ADDED, BUT CHOURICO, IS A "HOT" SAUSAGE. I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT!!



    Ingredients:

    Water, tap, 4 cup (8 fl oz) = 1 qt of water

    POTATO - SERVING 1 = 5.3oz, 3.50 serving
    APPROXIMATELY 4-5 POTATOES

    VEGGIE - KALE, FROZEN 1cup/serving (5serving/bag), 10 serving = 2 BAGS

    LINGUICA - 2oz/serving, 3.5 serving
    CHOURICO - PORTUGESE SAUSAGE 2oz/serving, 3.5 serving

    VEGGIE - BEANS,SMALL RED 1/2cup - 3.5 per can serving
    VEGGIE - BEANS,CHICK PEAS 1/2cup 3.5/can serving
    VEGGIE - BEANS,CANNELLINI 1/2c - 3.5/can serving

Tips

THIS RECIPE CAN BE MODIFIED OVER AND OVER. MY GRANDFATHER ENJOYED THIS WITH "CRUSTY BREAD" AND A LITTLE HOMEMADE WINE! WARM SOUP, CRUSTY BREAD, AND A GLASS OF HOMEMADE PORTUGESE WINE!
YUM!!!!


Directions

PLACE PEELED, AND DICED POTATOES, ADDING PORTUGESE SAUSAGE (AGAIN, I LIKE TO CUT THESE INTO BITE-SIZE PIECES) INTO A POT WITH 1 QT (APPROX) OF WATER. THIS FLAVORS, AND GENTLY COOKS THE POTATOES.

IN A CROCKPOT, PLACE 2 BAGS OF FROZEN KALE, AND BEANS. PLACE "HOT WATER, POTATO, AND SAUSAGE" OVER THE KALE AND BEANS. COOK ON "AUTO" APPROXIMATELY 3 HRS.
