Honey Wheat Germ Bread

Ingredients

    1 1/2 - 2 cups King Arthur sifted unbleached white flour
    1/4 cup Honey
    1/4 cup earth balance buttery whipped spread
    1 cup instant non fat milk (scalded)
    1/2 cup toasted plain wheat germ
    1 yeast cake or equivalent dry yeast
    1 tsp flour
    1/2 tsp honey
    2 eggs (or egg substitute equivalent)

Tips

Remove baked bread from pan, allow heat from off oven to crust bottom and sides of bread more.


Directions

Scald instant milk, pour over butter to melt.
Add toasted wheat germ to soften. Allow to cool.

Sift flour.

Mix yeast with honey, 1 tsp flour and 1/4 cup warm water. Allow mix to double.

Add yeast mix, honey and egg substitute to milk mix alternating with sifted flour. Keep adding flour until bread dough consistency. Let dough double in size.

Knead dough down and place in buttered floured loaf pan. Allow to double in size.

Bake at 350 F for 40-50 min testing for complete baking.

Serving Size: bread loaf makes 8-10 slices
