Baked Phyllo Hamburger

Submitted by: WOWMATOS

Introduction

Hamburger with all the fixin's rolled into a Phyllo "bun" Hamburger with all the fixin's rolled into a Phyllo "bun"
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1/2 lb. ground beef
    1/2 C. chopped onion
    1/2 C. chopped green pepper
    2 Tbsp. ketchup
    2 Tbsp. mustard
    2 Tbsp. reduced fat mayo
    2 Tbsp. dill relish
    1/2 C. shredded reduced fat (2%) cheese
5 sheets Phyllo dough, thawed and at room temperature
    2 Tbsp. butter (melted)

Tips

Reduce calories by substituting butter flavored spray for butter, reducing/replacing part of the ground beef with your choice of beens or vegetable protein, and using fat-free cheese.

Directions

Brown ground beef with onion and green pepper. Drain and cool while preparing the phyllo sheets. Spread one phyllo sheet onto a dry surface, brush lightly with melted butter. Open another phyllo sheet, stacking on the first sheet and brush with butter. Continue the same with all 5 phyllo sheets. Mix the remaining ingredients into the cooled beef/onion/pepper mixture. Spread the beef/condiment mixture onto one end (about half) of the phyllo stack, keeping at least 1 inch from the edges. Then roll it up, pinch the edges together, and lift onto a pan or cookie sheet. Brush with remaining melted butter. Bake at 350 F for 25 minutes. Allow to stand for several minutes before cutting into slices.
