Introduction

Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 medium orange, peeled and halved
    1/2 lime, peeled
    2 pears, cored and quartered
    5 kale leaves, stemmed and roughly chopped
    1 cup very cold water

    Optional:
    1/2" slice ginger
    1 tsp. honey or stevia

Tips

Even though the Vitamix totally pulverizes the kale and fruit, I'm still prone to bloating from insoluble fiber. If you are too, do what I do: microwave the kale in a covered bowl with 1" of water for 3 minutes. Use this steamed kale *with the water* and you'll digest the vegetation much more easily.


Directions

Layer the ingredients in the order listed in your Vitamix. Start at Variable One and gradually increase the speed to 10 before turning the machine to High for 3 minutes. Chill before serving.

Serving Size: Makes 6 3/4-cup servings
