No Wine-ers Chili

Ingredients

1 lb. Extra Lean Ground Turkey Breast
2C. chopped onion
1C. chopped green bell pepper
1 jalapeno pepper, chopped
8 garlic cloves, minced
1-1/3C. frozen MorningStar Farms Sausage Style Recipe Crumbles
3 Tbsp. tomato paste
2 Tbsp. chili powder
1 Tbsp. Spenda Brown Sugar Blend
1 Tbsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. coarse ground black pepper
1/4 tsp. salt
2 bay leaves
1-1/4C. Merlot wine
2 (28 oz.) cans diced tomatoes, undrained
2 (15 oz.) can kidney beans, drained & rinsed
Directions
1. Heat a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey breast and next 4 ingredients to pan; cook 5 minutes or until ground turkey is cooked almost all the way through, stirring to crumble. Add the sausage style recipe crumbles and cook 3 minutes.
2. Add tomato paste and next 7 ingredients, and cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in wine, diced tomatoes, and kidney beans, bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
3. Uncover and cook 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Discard bay leaves and serve. (Serving size is approx. 1-1/4 cups chili)
NOTE: This tastes even better served the next day and is freezable.
