Grilled Polenta

Introduction

Ingredients

    1 3/4ths cup yellow cornmeal

    6 Cups water

    2 tsp salt.

    2 tbsp olive oil

Directions

Bring water to a boil, add salt and slowly add in cornmeal while whisking vigorously. If you dump cornmeal is to fast it will clump up and be ruined. Once all meal is mixed in..this process takes a few minutes, then stir constantly for 10 min on low. Once cook poor polenta in a round or sq dish to cool. Once cooled, lightly brush with olive oil and grill.

    Not sure I did mine correctly. Had to put under the broiler rather than grill. This was the first time I've ever had this... maybe it's an acquired taste?

    I was exceptionally lazy and cut up pre-made polenta and put it on the grill to serve with grilled chicken and red/yellow bell peppers. Polenta is easy and very versitile. - 6/10/08

  • Your cooking surface is not clear. Most assume a grill is what you cook on outside. Having worked in a restaurant I know it is also the flat surface that you cook on in the kitchen. Is this cooked on an outside grill in a casserole dish or is it poured onto a grill/griddle and cooked as a pancake - 2/27/10
