1 pound ground beef
1 can Red Gold petite diced tomatoes
1 can Red Gold diced tomatoes with Basil, Garlic and Oregano, drained
3/4 cup frozen onions, diced
2 cups Sargento Reduced Fat Cheddar Cheese
1 tsp. minced garlic
salt and pepper to taste (about .5 tsp. of each)
1 package Barilla PLUS Penne Pasta
If you have a cast iron skillet you can put the skillet under the broiler for the last five minutes to melt the cheese.
While pasta is cooking, heat ground beef, onion, garlic, salt and pepper in skillet. Drain. Add tomatoes and heat for a few minutes. Add pasta and 1/2 of the cheese and stir. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top and cover. Simmer for 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve.
