New England Patriots Smoothie

Submitted by: MUSIC_MUTT

Introduction

Gotta love homey goodness a la Maine berries and Vermont dairy. The banana probably was imported. The wife and I based this on a strawberry/kiwi recipe that came with the Cuisinart stick blender. We added more sweetener for the tarter berries: blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries. Batch was about 18 ounces. Enjoy in good health. Number of Servings: 3

Ingredients

1 cup Wyman's Triple Berry Blend (blackberries, wild Maine blueberries, and raspberries)
    1/2 medium banana, sliced
    1/2 cup skim milk
    2 Tbsp honey
1 serving stevia extract sweetener (used Purvia)
1/2 cup Cabot's Lowfat Vanilla Greek Yogurt

This is meant for a healthy, tasty, after workout muscle building refresher.

Tips

To the wife and I, the Cabot yogurt is less tangy, a smoother taste than more expensive (authentic?) Greek yogurts. Still, we love the taste and it's great in this recipe.

Directions

We're newbies at smoothies, but it made sense to place the bananas and frozen berries in the mixing beaker first, followed by the sweeteners, then the milk and yogurt. It seemed very well blended with about 10 (base recipe called for 30) plunges of the stick blender.

Serving Size: makes 3 ~ 6 ounce servings; drink chilled
