A really tasty way to use up leftover turkey.A really tasty way to use up leftover turkey.
Number of Servings: 6
Ingredients
-
2 1/2 cups cooked turkey, diced
1/2 cup diced mushrooms
3 small carrots, diced
1/2 onion, diced
3/4 cup frozen peas
1 bouillon cube (we used chicken)
3/4 cup hot water
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp cream
1 tbsp Mrs Dash original
1 tbsp parsley
dash pepper
1 package Pillsbury Country biscuits (package of 5, each biscuit split in half)
Tips
We used a package of Pillsbury Country Biscuits - there are 5 to a package but we split them in half for 10 biscuits to cover the whole casserole.
You could probably use regular milk but you want some creaminess to the sauce.
Serve with a nice salad.
Directions
Melt the butter in a pan and saute the vegetables, until soft. Add the peas last.
Dissolve the bouilon in hot water, and stir until dissolved
Add bouillon to vegetables, stir, then add the cream and the spices/herbs.
Add the turkey, and stir thoroughly until heated through.
Pour carefully into a large baking dish.
Place 1/2 pillsbury biscuits on top until surface is covered
Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes until the tops of the biscuits are golden.
