Lower carb Flax almond bread

a lower carb option for sandwiches or toast when eating low carb. 6.5 carbs per slice a lower carb option for sandwiches or toast when eating low carb. 6.5 carbs per sliceNumber of Servings: 18
Ingredients
-
2/3 cup flax meal
2/3 cup almond flour
2/3 cup Buckwheat flour
2 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp salt
9 egg whites, (2/3 carton)
1.5 Tbsp Lard or other fat
Tips
the nice thing about this recipe is that it won't be spoiled if it's baked longer, but will just be firmer. I baked it for 60 minutes once, and it was still great. the lesser time offers a moister product which must be stored in the refrigerator.
cut into 1/4 inch pieces, about 18
Directions
Mix all dry ingredients in a smaller bowl. work in the Lard or chosen fat.
whip the egg whites in a large bowl, to stiff peaks.
fold in dry ingredients and turn into a loaf pan sprayed with cooking spray.
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

This recipe looks interesting but I did not see the buckwheat flour reflected in the nutrition data? - 2/4/12

you're right, I forgot to enter it. I fixed it now. it's changed the carb count to 6.5 still low, but not as low as I thought it was before. :-(
