Introduction

Make your own croutons with leftover bread! Much tastier than the bagged kind, and no weird preservatives or trans fats. Make your own croutons with leftover bread! Much tastier than the bagged kind, and no weird preservatives or trans fats.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 chabaso ciabatta sub sandwich roll (3.6 oz) or similar amount of good bread, diced into 1/2 inch cubes (remove crusts if you want, or substitute wheat bread)
    1 T olive oil (best you have)
    1 clove garlic, sliced
    sprinkle of salt
    1 T parmesan, grated finely
    1 T. fresh parsley, chopped finely

Directions

saute garlic in olive oil over medium heat until fragrant and golden.
Remove garlic with slotted spoon. Add salt and bread, saute, stirring occasionally for 15-20 min or until you have golden croutons!
Remove pan from heat, and toss croutons with parmesan and parsley to coat.

Serving Size: makes 4 servings
