Home made easy flan
Submitted by: NITAINMNIntroduction
I tried making this at home as my neighbor, Besty Auntie used to make for me, when I was growing up. My family was vegetarian and I was prescribed eggs. She used a lot of eggs (4) to get me to eat more eggs, that I hated the smell of. I still do so, cut this particular ingredient in half. Ingredients
-
Horizon 2% orgnic milk, 1.5 cup
Wild Harvest Omega three Eggs, 2
Granulated Sugar, 1 cup
Saffron, 1 tsp (optional)
Vanilla Extract - 1/2 tsp.
Tips
Cut into 8 pieces and eat for breakfast, if you like. Feel free to double the eggs and cut sugar to 3/4 cup for 4 eggs and 1/2 a cup for recipe as is. This is sweet and fit for a dessert.
Directions
Beat all the ingredients together except sugar. Caramalize sugar in 1/4 to 1/2 a cup of water to desired color. Spread it in a glass container, including the walls by turning the dish around. The caramalized sugar will dry as it cools. Once completely dry, pour the egg-milk mixture and either zap in the microwave or steam. Cool in the refrigerator and serve as dessert.
