Introduction

I make this for my friends on game day and it's always a hit! I make this for my friends on game day and it's always a hit!
Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    1 lb lean ground beef
    1 lb lean ground turkey
1 32 oz can tomato sauce
1 15 oz can diced tomatoes
2 15 oz cans red kidney beans
1 small can diced green chili peppers
    1 cup chopped onion
    1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup dry whole wheat pasta
8 tbsp (more or less to taste) chili powder

Tips

You can substitute Splenda brown sugar blend for a lower calorie version. For a little extra kick, use a can of Ro-Tel instead of canned tomatoes. Sometimes, we also add a little bit of cinnamon to the chili to give it a unique flavor.

Directions

In a large dutch oven ,brown ground beef and turkey, drain fat and rinse in hot water. Return to heat and add onion, cooking until tender. Add tomato juice and chili powder, adding more or less to suit your personal taste. Add kidney beans (drained), chili peppers (drained), and tomatoes (drained). For extra kick, don't drain the chili peppers and use the juice. Add the brown sugar and stir until all ingredients are well blended. Add dry pasta, and cook until pasta is tender.
