Gyros

Introduction

Non-traditional tzatzik dip, pita bread, and pork - Delicious! Don't be afraid of the non-traditional part - it's just not 'officially' from Greece but it's yummy. Make it healthier by substituting Truvia for the sugar and whole wheat pitas for the white pitas. Non-traditional tzatzik dip, pita bread, and pork - Delicious! Ingredients

1 lb pork chops, cut up into bite-sized pieces
    2 med onions, sliced
4 Tbsp Cavender's All Purpose Greek Seasoning (more or less depending on your taste)

    Tzatziki dip
16 oz reduced fat sour cream
1 cucumber, diced and water squeezed out
1/4 cup sugar (or truvia for less calories!)

    2 Tbsp olive oil
10 pita bread (Nutrition facts are with white pita bread, but you can use wheat too)

Directions

1 - In a non-stick pan, heat pork and onions until meat is cooked through and the onions are transparent. While the meat and onions are cooking, season with Cavender's All Purpose Greek Seasoning. After heated through, set aside but keep warm.

2 - While the meat is cooking, dice the cucumber. Make sure to squeeze all the water out of the pieces or the sauce will be too runny. Add the cucumber to the sour cream along with the sugar. Mix well and set aside.

3. In a non-stick pan, heat olive oil. Fry one side of the pita bread until browned. Flip the pita and fry the other side. Repeat until all pitas are cooked.
