Poor man's Pasta E Fagoli

Introduction

I was in need of soup, but didn't have my of my usual ingredients, so I improvised. I was in need of soup, but didn't have my of my usual ingredients, so I improvised.
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    6 cups chicken broth
    1 lb ground turkey
    1 12oz can pizza sauce or spaghetti sauce (I only had pepperoni flavored, which increased the sodium count in this recipe exponentially)
    1 can diced tomatoes
    1 onion, chopped
    1 cup barley
    Tabasco sauce to taste (I used about 4tsp)

    5oz mixed frozen veggies
    1 bunch swiss chard chopped


Directions

Place first 7 ingredients in crock. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 6 hours. About 10 minutes before serving, add chopped swiss chard and veggies.

Serving Size: Makes about 12 1.5-cup servings
