2 cups self-rising flour 1/2 cup unsalted butter 3/4 cup buttermilk
Place the flour and butter in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Use a pastry blender. or two knives, to cut the shortening into the flour until a coarse meal is formed. Stir in the buttermilk just until blended. Drop mixture by heaping tablespoons onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
