cook over med heat onion, bell pepper, carrots and garlic in butter till tender. Add 2 cans diced tomatos, broth, red pepper flakes, thyme, basil and black pepper. Simmer uncovered 20-25 mins. Add shrimp, simmer additional 10-15 mins until cooked. Ladle into bowl, serve rice on top. Makes 6 servings.
could substitute some of the shrimp for crab
