Homemade Tomato Soup

Introduction

This is a big batch for canning. Makes 10 qts. You'll never want store bought again! This is a big batch for canning. Makes 10 qts. You'll never want store bought again!
Number of Servings: 40

Ingredients

    10 qt. tomato juice OR 1/2 bushel tomatoes, strained
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 T. salt
    1/8 t. pepper
    4 t. onion salt
    4 t. celery salt
    1 lb. butter
    2 c. flour

Directions

Combine juice, sugar, salts and pepper in large pot. While heating, Melt butter in separate pan. When melted, stir in flour and mix well until smooth. Stir into juice. Bring to a full boil, remove from heat. Pour into canning jars and process in hot water bath for 30 min.
