2 pkg saltines 2 sticks of butter 1 cup brown sugar 1 package chocolate chips 1 cup nuts (optional)
Line a lightly sprayred cookie sheet with saltines - cover the whole surface breaking them to fit if necessary. Melt two sticks of butter with one cup of brown sugar. Cook at medium heat until it starts to carmelize and get a little thick. Poor over the saltines. Spread around to cover all saltines. Poor the bag of chocolate chips over that and let it sit for 5 minutes. Then use a rubber spatula to spread the softened/melted chips all over the saltines. Place in the refrigerator for at least an hour and a half. Take out and use a spatula or your hands to break it up into small pieces - all the pieces will be oddly shaped - similar to peanut brittle. Keep cold and be prepared to try and control yourself - it is a little addictive!
