IntroductionJust the right texture for sandwiches. Just the right texture for sandwiches.
1/4 c milk
5 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
5 tsp butter
1/4 oz active dry yeast (1 packet)
2.5 - 3.5 c unbleached or bread flour
Stir butter, milk, sugar & salt into yeast water.
Add 2 cups flour, stir
Adding 1/4 c at a time of remaining flour, mix until dough no longer sticks to hands.
Knead dough about 10 minutes
Shape into ball. Let rise 1 hour in a greased covered bowl.
Punch down. Roll out into rectangle. Roll up and put into loaf pan. Let rise until double 45 -60 minutes.
Bake at 400 for 30-35 minutes.
Serving Size: Makes 1 loaf 16 slices
