1 pound split peas, soaked overnight and rinsed
3 quarts chicken broth
1 cup onion chopped
1 cup carrot chopped
1/2 cup celery chopped
1 teaspoon garlic crushed
salt and pepper to taste
Place all ingredients in large pot except salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer and simmer uncovered 2.5 or 3 hours until peas are tender. Add salt and pepper to taste.
