Hamburger pie

This is a dish that my husband likes on a cold winter night. It's filling comfort food. This is a dish that my husband likes on a cold winter night. It's filling comfort food.
Number of Servings: 6


    1 lb lean ground beef (I use ground round)
    1 4 serving package of flavored Mashed potatoes (I like the garlic and herb type)
    1/4 to 1/2 cup minced onion or dehydrated onions of equal amount
    1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
    1 16 ounce package of California blend vegetables
    1/4 teaspoon celery powder
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/4 teaspoon onion powder
    1 prepared pie crust


You can top with gravy or cheese if desired. (not figured into calories)


Brown ground beef and add the spices, onion and garlic.
Prepare the mashed potatoes as directed on package.
Thaw frozen vegetables in the microwave. Place pie crust in a deep 9-10 inch pie plate and prick bottom. Place a thin layer of the potatoes on bottom of pie. Mix beef and vegetables and level over pie plate. Spread the rest of the potatoes over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes. Allow to set for a few minutes before serving.

Serving Size: serving is 1/6 of the pie
